SEO School Bus First Exam: Who Needs Links Anyway?

 

A little story to share with you for the Seo School Bus. I have a friend with a website that posts 5 days a week. I was reading his most recent post, when I wanted to check how many links he had coming into his website (it showed around 2400). I quickly sent him a text saying, “You have 2400 incoming links for your site”. He said, “How did you see that?”. Which brings me to a SEO tool that you should be using. SEO for Firefox, while a great resource for education, can help you learn SEO as you’re using it. If you’re not using FireFox this might give you a reason. I won’t than go into to much depth of how this tool works, (there are plenty out there) my suggestion would be to play around with it first.

First thing to look at will be the options of the tool where you will find what kind of info you want to know about a website. You can set any of the options to automatic, hide, or on-demand. You may hide one that I may have automatic, and you might ask: “Which ones do you have hidden, automatic or on-demand?” I don’t want to push my bias onto you, because then you won’t do any research on your own to understand why it’s important.

I’m now in the habit of right clicking on every website and using my “look up this page” option. I could spend hours looking at where websites are getting their links from, from looking at the press releases that have been written to directories they have submitted to. If you can get why they have that link and how its helping them you will be able to convert this into learning SEO techniques for your site. We will revisit this tool often and touch on various aspects of what the information can do for the Seo School Bus students.

O tal 2009 está por aí e te confesso uma coisa, ÊTA aninho que começou bão sô, estou com tanta proposta de trabalho que terei que fazer uma reengenharia em meus hábitos profissionais; Estou com tantas perspectivas que nem consigo dominar as minhas idéias: Achei tantas oportunidades que estou com dificuldade de escolher, parece lorota? pois pense assim mesmo, afinal tem muita gente esperando a chence para entrar no espaço que os pessimistas e derrotistas de plantão estarão deixando nos próximos meses,

Sabe da estória do homem que vendia Laranjas?
Um Sitiante criou sua família vendendo laranjas, todos os dias colocava caixas de laranja em sua carroça e vendia a beira da estrada;
Seu filho adolescente terminou os ensino médio e o homem decidiu que era hora do menino ir para a cidade, fazer faculdade, virar “doutor”…
Mandou o menino, e, 5 anos mais tarde quando o “doutor” chegou em casa, começou a ajudar o Pai na administração do Sítio;
Pra começar vamos comprar uma parabólica e uma TV, o senhor precisa saber o que anda acontecendo no mundo…
alguns dias depois decidiu, face a CRISE, que era melhro diminuir a produção de Laranjas e mandar 2 dos quatro empregados embora;
Mais um tempinho e logo mandou também os outros dois…
Reduziu a produção e consequantemente a disponibilidade de produtos para a venda;
Agora, vendemos somente 1 caixa por dia, descobrimos estrategicamente o que o mercado consegue assimilar, consumir…
Alguns meses depois Faliram…
Culpa da CRISE, argumentou o rapaz, concordou o Pai, acenaram os amigos, vibraram os concorrentes…
Hoje o Sitiante trabalha na portaria de um edifício no centro de uma cidade grande, o “doutor” fez um concurso público e tem o seu “garantido”;
e o Pai Sitiante deve tudo isso ao filho informado, antenado, influenciado, alienado, capacitado…
“Ainda bem que mandei meu filho pra Capital, se não eu estaria vendendo laranjas até hoje, sem saber que o mercado não consome mais laranjas…
Ignorar as dificuldades? Não, não creio que seja esse o caminho, mas certamente não dar muita importância pra elas pode ajudar;
No que diz respeito à orientação que dou a meus clientes e amigos vou continuar sendo preciso nas análises, estrategista nas ações e irreverentemente motivado e proativo…
Continuem produzindo e vendendo laranjas;

If a page or link is several clicks away ( a visitor have to go through several web pages) then there is a possibility that the search engine spider will have trouble indexing it. Your search engine will show you the error that the page is not found.

One way to over come this is to use a search engine friendly site maps in which all your web pages organized and are interconnected to each other in such a way, that it would only take a viewer to click several times (2 is optimal) to get to the web page they wish to view.

- parts&accessories

There is a good chance that at the RisingTrigger page or the chassis page an error will appear and the web page will not show up as the search engine spider will have trouble navigating in such a deep a page. By using search engine friendly site maps, this will put this (chassis) page only 2 clicks away. And since they are only 3 pages deep they are ensured that these pages are spidered and cached.

Here are some points to consider in creating a search engine friendly site maps:

· Sitemap page should be linked to or from every other page in a site

· Links should only be 2 clicks away from the sitemap

· If the web site have more than 100 pages mini-sitemaps should be used

o Build this mini-sitemaps to link all category level pages

o Link all this mini-sitemaps to a general sitemap

* Sitemap page should be linked to or from every other page in a site

This means that your web pages must appear on this site, ideally, this sitemap should include links to all your site’s internal pages thin of this in book terms as some sort of directory or table of contents. This will make your website not only search engine friendly, but user-friendly as well.

* Links should be 2 click away

This will allow the search engine spiders easy access and thus, ensuring your inner pages to be reached and processed. This will minimize the Error of page not found profoundly, so it will ensure that viewers will the page they wanted to see.

* If the web site have more than 100 pages mini-sitemaps should be used

Search engine friendly site maps will make the use of mini-sitemaps if your website contains over 100 or 150 pages. Think of this as in book terms as subdirectory. This will make your website navigable even if it contains a lot of pages. It is also a good idea to group the web pages which have relevant terms to each other or on the same category level. Such groupings will also simplify the visitors time for searching as your sitemap have done most of it. Of course, this mini-sitemaps must show on the main sitemap, again for ease of navigating your website for the visitor’s desired web pages.

So when done improperly, they will not give you the full benefit it has to offer, while if done correctly, a search engine friendly sitemap will not only logically organize your web site, it will also ensure that all your web pages are cached and processed (even the deep ones) by the search engine spiders. Most search engine users have little patience to navigate poorly designed website, and sitemaps will give you that, as well as making your web site easily navigated and user-friendly.
